Method and object: Block the computer's playing pieces and capture them by changing the computer's color into your own color! You win by having the most playing pieces of your own color when the game ends.
THE COURSE OF THE GAME
Preparation: The player chooses a color and the number of computer opponents.
Initial Position: Four Rolit balls are placed in the center of the playing board.
Who Starts?: Red moves first. Then yellow, then green, and then blue.
First Move: The first move consists of placing one ball showing the player's color in a way that will block the computer's Rolit balls. The computer's ball will then be turned to reveal the player's color.
Game Continues: The computer has its turn and the game continues.
Color disappears, blocking not possible: When the your color 'disappears' from the playing-board; or when blocking/capturing is not possible, don't panic, you can now put your Rolit ball in any position on the board next to another Rolit ball.
End of Game: When all slots have been filled with Rolit balls, the game is over.
Winner: The winner is the player with the most Rolit balls showing his/her color.
FURTHER EXPLANATION AND EXAMPLES
Block: Blocking only takes place between the newly placed ball and the next ball already in place on the playing-board of the same color and in a straight line.
Capture: The blocked ball is now captured and is rolled to show the color of the capturing ball.
Notice: 1. A Rolit ball should always be placed next to a ball already in a place on the playing-board.
2. When blocking and capturing is feasible, you should block and capture.
Example: Blocking is exclusively done between the newly placed ball and the next ball having the same color. The blocked Rolit balls are now captured and will show the color of the capturing ball.
Blocking in all directions: Balls can be blocked and captured horizontally and/or vertically and/or diagonally but only in straight lines. When blocking/capturing is feasible in more than one position, choose what appears to you to be the best tactical move. When blocking/capturing is feasible and you have made your choice, all Rolit balls that can be captured as a result of this move, will be rolled into your color.
IMPORTANT NOTES AND TACTICAL TIPS
Score: The number of balls in each player's color will be shown to the left of the board. When the game ends, the player with the highest number of balls in their color is the winner.
Tips: Blocking/capturing occurs only when the newly placed ball takes part in the blockade. Any other blockades that may emerge or be created must be ignored.
Tactical Tips: When blocking/capturing is feasible in more than one position, choose what appears to you to be the best tactical move. Such a move will not necessarily result in the greatest number of captured balls, as some positions on the board are tactically superior while other positions are tactically inferior and should be avoided.
Plan Ahead!: Note that every move you make will affect the tactics of all the computer players.
Rolit is an exciting and unpredictable game, where anything can happen at any stage in the game. Sometimes it looks as if you are going to lose, but suddenly a crucial move enables you to roll it smoothly and.win!
